Star Resort Group begins construction at Texas private residence club
Star Resort Group has started construction of Seahorse Beach Club & Residences, a $50 million Gulf Coast beach-resort community on Folletts Island, Texas.
The 108-acre resort boasts a 300-feet wide beach with a protected dune set-back. Development of its 36 four-and five bedroom beachfront homes will be limited to two rows, with staggered beach and bayside lots to maximise views.
The resort will feature both whole ownership and fractional ownership properties, with prices starting at $1,020,000 and $170,000 respectively.
Planned amenities include a recreation area with a large resort-style activity pool; a kids' pool; a 10,000-square-foot club house; private picnic pavilion and playgrounds; sports courts; a walkable nature preserve accessed via an elevated boardwalk; a crabbing pier and bay-fishing pier; and easy kayak access.
Carl Berry, CEO of Star Resorts, said: “Seahorse is the first private residence club on the Texas Gulf Coast and, for a fraction of the price, will offer four-star services and amenities normally found in high-end resorts. Buyers will enjoy the benefits of real estate investment without the burdens and responsibilities associated with homeownership. This is an intelligent way to own a vacation home.”
Follets Island is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the east and Christmas Bay to the west. Star Resorts says: "For generations, Follets Island has been a favored destination of sun- and surf-seekers, campers, dolphin-watchers, fishermen and nature-lovers of all stripes. The island also is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with its populations of great-tailed grackle, red-winged blackbirds, brown pelicans, night heron, snowy egret, gulls, and terns. Much of the exquisite and unspoiled natural environment is protected in perpetuity."
