Fractional Ownership News
Porsche Design Group megayachts announced
Something not strictly fractional right now but that may impact on the market in the future as Porsche Design Group have turned away from their kettles, sunglasses, mountain-bikes, pens and the like and put their pencils to work on designing luxury yachts and catamarans.
Porsche Design Group and the Singapore-based yacht builder, Royal Falcon Fleet, have signed a design and marketing agreement. Under this agreement Porsche Design will design luxury catamarans and megayachts for Royal Falcon Fleet on an exclusive basis. Porsche Design will also develop a marketing concept for the yachts.
Royal Falcon Fleet was established by a Swedish investor and is committed to build a premium brand in the mega-yacht industry. With cutting-edge design, world leading technology and state-of-the-art engineering, complemented by beautifully crafted European interiors, Royal Falcon Fleet is set to redefine the meaning of ultimate luxury cruising.
The initial collaborative project will be to design a motor catamaran, over 40 meters (135ft) in length, to be sold under the Royal Falcon Fleet brand. Porsche Design will design both the hull exterior and the interior of the mega yacht. Royal Falcon Fleet has engaged Kockums and Incat Crowther for the engineering and the naval architect of the project.
Kockums is a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp and is based in Sweden; it is renowned for its cutting-edge technology in the field of marine engineering. Incat Crowther is a naval architect based in Australia with decades of experience in the construction of large motor catamarans.
So who will be the first club to offer coordinating Yacht and supercar packages...
